As Addis Admass newspaper writes on the issue the surrogacy case is mounting among Ethiopian women in recent times.
Since surrogacy is illegal in Ethiopia the women are taken to countries like India by the paying service seekers for the medical procedure.
According to brokers who are dealing on the issue a woman can get from 250, 000 Br to 500 00 Br for the surrogacy service she delivered. The huge financial gain and the fact that the issue is handled in secrecy abroad are making the procedure popular.
A medical Practitioner and a woman who have gone through the process told the psychological trauma the procedure leaves on the surrogate mother.
