“We are fired from our job for demanding our rights” World Vision workers

c7a0f1b7World Vision Ethiopia has given a letter to its one thousand workers notifying that they are fired from their job starting from April 1, 2014 – this is not an April the fool joke.

The workers have aired their grievance to the Reporter newspaper that they are fired from their job for pointing the administrative malpractices.

World Vision Ethiopia that has currently running about 69 projects across the country said that the workers have lost their job due to some administrative structural adjustment programs and denied of any violations of rights.

The workers have also said that though the organization had told them that they would be given a very good compensation payment what they got written on their termination letter was the minimum payment. Efforts to contact and talk with the organization’s higher officials haven’t been successful.
