Two Oromo political parties, Oromo Federalist Congress (OFD) and the All Oromo People Democratic Party (AOPDP) told the Sendek newspaper that violence will not solve the controversy surrounding the new Addis Ababa’s master plan. The political parties have also urged for the government to answer the students’ question in a civilized way.

Oromo Federalist Congress (OFC)’s deputy Chairman Ato Mulatu Gemechu said that “the Oromo and Addis Ababa case will not be solved by violence.” He also told Sendek that the party after a collaborative discussion with other three Oromo political parties has submitted the suggestion on the issue on a letter to the House of Peoples Representatives, House of Federation and the Oromia region.
