UN condemned Al- Shabab for terrorist attacks in Somalia

The UN Special Representative for Somalia, Sir Nicholas Kay, has condemned the terrorist attacks in Somalia by the Al- Shabab group. The condemnation came a day after the Al- Shabab terror group detonated bombs in different parts of the country thereby killing dozens of people.
A statement that Dire Tube obtained today from the Special Representative’s Office in Mogadishu indicated that the terrorist attacks have resulted in the death and injury of many innocent civilians.
“I am appalled to learn of the murder of many innocent civilians killed in terrorist attacks yesterday. Yet again the proponents of violence show that they have nothing to offer but continued suffering for the Somali people. I call on all to co-operate fully with the authorities as they investigate these heinous crimes to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice swiftly,” Sir Nicholas said.
Nicholas added that the UN will remain resolute in its support for the Somali people as they work to realize their hope for a peaceful and stable future.
