Ethiopia plans to collect 18 tons of gold from traditional gold miners this year Around a million Ethiopians are engaged in traditional gold mining.

Ethiopian Minister of Mines, Sinkenesh Ejegu, ascribes these all success to the legalization of the traditional miners and the ease of business transaction that has been made to pass through the Ethiopian National Bank.
