The ground water dig finalized before the Ethio-Djibouti water grant approved by the parliament

59a2e54aSendek newspaper writes that the ground water dig which is meant for a water grant to Djibouti is finalized before the approval by the parliament of the Ethio-Djibouti water grant bill.

The newspaper report indicated that the dig by the Chinese company, CGCOC, in Bekuli valley of the Somali region’s Shenela zone is fully completed.

The company has started a study for the laying of water supply pipes. As an individual who has a close working relationship on the project told Sendek, the finalizing of the water dig before the bill’s approval by the parliament is a disregard for the parliament. The Ethiopian government would give the water to Djibouti for free.

The draft bill grants water supply to Djibouti for thirty years. The newspaper writes that Ethiopia pays more than 700 million dollars for the Djibouti port.
