The construction of the 10.3 billion birr Addis-Adama expressway is completed.
The expressway which is the most modern in the country is constructed with a loan from China’s ExIm bank and the budget allotted by the Ethiopian government. This eighty kilometers road has 31 meters width and it can accommodate six vehicles at any time on both directions.
It is hoped that the expressway will reduce the more than an hour travel time to only forty minutes and help decrease the accident and traffic jam on the existing Addis-Adama road.
The construction of this expressway that has eight huge and 77 light bridges and 43 pedestrian and vehicle overpasses was started on September, 2013.
