Remarkable man award to be held on Saturday

Annual prize ceremony for citizens who do their best for their people and country will be held on the coming Saturday afternoon at the Elile Hotel on June 7, 2014; the organizers announced. The award is to be given for the second time and last year five remarkable men who have contributed in various ways to the overall well-being of the country are awarded.

The organizers said that the award is to be given to those Ethiopians who have helped a lot in the country’s peace, reconciliation, social service, charity, aid, art, agriculture and industry, government post, heritage preservation, culture and tourism and research realms.

This award which is organized by the ‘Ye Daniel Eyetawoch’ will have three judges in each award category. Nomination for the award was conducted using various media outlets and blogs. And among one thousand individuals who were nominated only thirty five are selected for the award.

According to the organizers, in the art category, Mulatu Astateke, Tesfaye Sahelu (Ababa Tesfaye), Tesfaye Lema, Yilma Habeteyes and Tadesse Mesfin are nominated for the last phase of the competition. In the culture and tourism category too Alemu Aga, Habeteselassie Tafesse, Dr. Zeresenay Alemseged, Sheik Abdulahi Sherif are also nominated. The award will be given to those whose contribution excels in the respective categories
