Optic Fiber Cable Manufacturing Plant to start Production in September 2013

An optic fiber cable manufacturing factory with a capacity of manufacturing 24 thousand km optic fiber cable annually, built at a cost of 2.7 billion Birr, is set to go operational in September 2013.Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn visited cable and textile manufacturing industries in Alemgena and Sebeta towns on Sunday.

During his visit, Hailemariam called upon the investors of manufacturing industry to expand their investment as well as attract other foreign investors in the manufacturing sector.

The Premier assured leaders of the industry the necessary support they need from the government.

Ayka Addis Textile president Yusuf Aydeniz for his part said he would work to make other Turkish textile companies open their branches in Ethiopia. He said he is working to bring 20 textile companies from Turkey to Ethiopia which would create job opportunity for 60 thousand people and secure $2 billion foreign currency annually for the nation.

Ayka Addis Textile which is fully operational has created over 7 thousand 500 jobs for Ethiopians.
