NEW Egyptian Constitution forbids Ethiopia from using NileIn the new Egyptian constitution on which Egyptians are voting and expected to be operational soon there indicated the existence of an article that declares for the utilization of Blue Nile to be as it was previously.

In response to this, Ethiopian Foreign Ministry said that such an article is unacceptable. This new constitution which is amended from the one drafted by the ex-Egyptian president Mohammed Mursi excludes lots of articles previously deemed too religious and it has included new articles about the river Nile.
Some of the controversial articles of the constitution are those that deal about water pollution and spending. Dina Mufti, spokesman for the Ethiopian foreign ministry said that “we respect Egyptians right to draft their kind of constitution, but one country’s constitution should not in any way goes against other country’s rights”.

He also said that Ethiopia hasn’t agreed on those so called ‘historical rights’ which were of colonial era treaty and utterly illegal.
