Merchants complained about the on-street traders

dc9a7088As some legal merchants told Fana broadcasting corporate, their business is being threatened by illegal on street traders who provide extremely low price for items.

The merchants blamed confiscated contraband items that are sold to the illegal on street traders. The country’s major government wholesaler told Fana that it receives confiscated contraband items from the customs offices and sell it on a bill. But since the very few traders who participated on the bill fixed the price tag too low, and then sold it with minimum price to on street illegal traders, the problem has been created.

The wholesaler has also said that there are some items in the hands of the illegal on street traders that haven’t passed through the wholesaler and therefore that might have entered into the country through some other illegal channel.
