Most believe that Carlos Quieroz, currently preparing Iran for the World Cup, is the odds-on favourite, while the names of Shakes Mashaba, Stephen Keshi and Herve Renard have also been thrown around.
Now local agent Abbie Rasimphi confirms that two of his clients have submitted their CVs – former Ghana coach Mario Barreto, and ex-Dutch international defender Wim Rijsbergen, who is currently technical director with the Indonesia national team and who assisted Leo Beenhakker at the 2006 World Cup.
“It is no secret that SAFA is looking for a head coach for Bafana Bafana, and both Barreto and Rijsbergen are highly-rated international coaches who are interested in the job,” Rasimphi told.
