Eyeing the immense potential that Ethiopia offers to Omani exporters Ithraa is holding workshops in Sohar, Muscat and Salalah to brief Omani exporters on the commercial opportunities on offer in Ethiopia.
Attended by leading Omani exporters and manufacturers in Al Batinah, the first workshop provided attendees with an in-depth assessment of the Ethiopian economy, its imports and tax system as well as financial and political stability.
It also highlighted market demand and trends in light of Ethiopia’s recent infrastructure boom.
“This specific set of workshops are part of Ithraa’s on-going outreach programme designed to spread awareness of the commercial opportunities on offer in Ethiopia and how we can help Omani exporters penetrate the Ethiopian market and connect with importers. Indeed, we fully expect to see growth in Oman-Ethiopia trade relations. It’s an exciting time for both parties,” remarked Nasima Al Balushi, Ithraa’s Director-General of Export Development.
Commissioned in 2013, the study identified almost 60 thrust products that have the potential to establish a strong market share in Ethiopia.
