Orange Park resident killed in accident

A single-car accident at Saturday morning resulted in the death of 41-year-old Dawit Berhe Baraki of Orange Park.

Baraki was driving a 1995 Toyota Carolla south on Oakleaf Plantation Parkway in the left inside lane, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

As the car went into a curve, it began drifting left toward the curb, the report said. Baraki then oversteered to the right and the car went into a spin, crossed the southbound lanes onto the shoulder and struck a tree on the driver’s side door about 9:10 a.m.

Baraki was announced dead at the scene.
