Egypt’s idea to complain the dam’s construction case to the UN Security Council is futile: Ethiopian Water, Irrigation and Energy Ministry
In response to the Egyptian government officials’ recent idea to complain the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam’s construction case to the UN Security Council, the Ethiopian government’s Water, Irrigation and Energy Ministry’s directorate Feke Ahmed Negash said that ‘to even file a complaint, Egypt has to show a factual evidence as to the damage that the dam can cause, but the studies conducted by international bodies has shown otherwise; that the dam don’t cause any considerable problem on the lower basin countries.’
Moreover, Ethiopia has to be agreed for the case to be settled in an international court where in this cause Ethiopia doesn’t comply. He also blamed the Egyptian politicians who knowingly denied the dam construction’s real situation and divert and politicize the cause.
