EFF boss talks on Sewnet replacement

fbbd93dbEthiopian Football Federation (EFF) President Junedin Basha says 12 coaches have sent applications for the vacant national team coach vacancy from Europe and Africa.

However Basha intimated that he wanted a transparent process that would go a long way in ensuring the federation hired the right candidate that would help the Walia Ibex as they aspire to make gains from the recent success.

“There is so much interest in the vacant job as we have received loads of applications from Europe and even top African coaches. I want a very transparent process and right now we are concentrating on putting up criteria that will be used when applying the job and this will be announced in a week’s time to everyone so that when a coach is applying he should know what we expect from him according to our own criteria.”
“As soon as we get the applications then we will be able to make the correct informed choice and draw up a contract that will be suitable to the coach vis a vis our own interest as a federation since we want the best man to take over and help the team rise to unchartered waters,” Basha told supersport.com.

EFF fired coach Sewnet Bishaw a fortnight ago after he failed to go past the first round in the Chan hosted by South Africa.Sewnet had a distinguished career having qualified Walia to the 2013 Afcon,2014 Chan and World Cup 2014 play off where they lost to African champions Nigeria.
