Patients who attend St John’s Hospice in Doncaster have got their knitting needles clicking to help disadvantaged babies – and now their creations are winging their way to Ethiopia.
Daycare patients, together with some relatives, have turned donated wool into vests which are being sent, via Soroptimists International, to Ethiopia to help dress babies who are born to parents who are too poor to dress them.
Carol Spiller, of The Soroptimists, said: “The patients have done a brilliant job creating vests for babies thousands of miles away. This clothing will be really appreciated by the families who receive it.”
