Sources told that conflicts in the Gondar, Metema and the Sudanese town of Galabate killed people. As sources said the first conflict is triggered around Metema when a contrabandist who tried to smuggle goods is shot by a security forces when he refused to stop.
The area’s community angered by the killing clashed with the security forces and in the ensuing conflict lives are lost. Sources have also told that in a conflict that took place in the Gondar city’s kebele 18, at least nine people are killed. This conflict that occurred in March 1, 2014 is caused when officials marked homes to be demolished on a plot of land previously been given for investment.
In the clash nine individuals including children and a police officer are said to have been killed.
