ADDIS ABABA, Nov 27 (BERNAMA-NNN-ENA) — The governments of Ethiopia and China have signed an agreement for 101.5 billion Yuan (about US$16.66 billion) in financial support for various projects in Ethiopia.
Some 100 billion Yuan of the total assistance will go to projects to be carried out jointly by the two governments while the balance of 1.5 billion Yuan will go to an airport expansion project, according to the agreement signed here Monday.
The two sides also signed agreements to strengthen their economic and technical co-operation as well as cooperation between China’s Confucius Institute and Addis Ababa University, the China-Ethiopia technology library, research and science park and the China cultural centre in Ethiopia.
