Boyfriend of 23 year old girl killed by father talks

FLOUR BLUFF – Matteo Abrignani says he dated Danait Kidane off and on for several years. A couple weeks ago, they got back together, but her parents didn’t know.

Kidane is the 23 year old woman police say was stabbed to death last night in Flour Bluff.

Her father is the main suspect.

Abrignani says Kidane didn’t have a phone or a car, and the only way he communicated with her was online, but after he dropped her off at her house around 5 pm yesterday, he didn’t hear from her again.

“I was waiting for her to message me, and she didn’t message me last night, and then this morning I messaged her good morning, and how are you, and nothing happened. Nothing was sent back to me,” he says.

Abrignani says he’s not sure exactly what happened, but he did say her father was strict.

“She wasn’t allowed to be out very late even though she was 23 years old. She had a curfew and stuff,” he says.

It’s just speculation, but Abrignani says he’s only left to think one thing.

“We only had hung out for like two hours last night, but it was maybe because she was out quote ‘late’ to him, and he thought she was out too late. And thats all I, that’s all I can think of,” he says.

Kidane’s father was found with burn marks outside of his burning car a little under an hour after the stabbing took place.

He was found outside the Walmart near Greenwood and S.P.I.D.

As police investigate, they want to know why.

Kidane’s father was taken to a hospital in San Antonio. He is in critical condition.

No charges have been filed against him.
