Artist Gedion Daniel Needs Help

Addis Guday magazine writes that a young Ethiopian singer Gedion Daniel who is well known for his two albums and other single releases is now living on the streets of Addis. As his friends said the singer has been showing signs of mental instability for a very long time.

“When he is sober, Gedion is the most peaceful guy around. But when he drinks, he becomes extremely aggressive and abusive” one of his friends commented. Some said that the fact that he couldn’t get any psychiatric help for his problems, his condition become aggravated and it is feared that it would get worsen.

Though some of his friends said that the not-well accepted his second album might be the reason for his mental instability, others rejected the claim. It is said that Gedion had made deals with Tibebu Workeye and Electra where the album finally released under Electra. But it couldn’t be a hit. Some of those who participated on the album work are also complaining that they haven’t been paid.

Nevertheless, the life of one of the great talents among the budding Ethiopian musicians is in grave danger and he needs help from every concerned individual or organization; the magazine concludes.
