Arena Tigray’s opposition demonstration banned

The demonstration Arena Tigray for Democracy and Sovereignty called for June 28, 2014 at the Mekelle city on the issue of the city’s water shortage and judiciary problems is banned.

The party had informed about the demonstration to the city’s administration office on June 20, 2014. But the party said that the letter issued from the city’s mayor office on June 20, 2014 has banned the demonstration.

The reason given by the city’s administration for the ban is the shortage of security forces to be assigned for the demonstration since more security officers have already been assigned for another previously informed event at the city at the same date.
