As a newspaper article describes, now a days, there is a growing underground sex market in Addis Ababa. The center of the network is a procurer, colloquially named a ‘pimp’ who earns part of the earnings of the sex workers.

But this is not the case of an ordinary prostitution. This ‘high profile’ sex market comprises women of varied socioeconomic positions ranging from innocent girls who came to Addis to earn their living to the secretaries, models and actresses.

At the other end the customers of this sex market ranges from wealthy investors and diplomats to the tourists and wealthy Arabs who came to Ethiopia.

The procures of the sex market looks in the various hotels and recreation centers for any would be customers and recruits girls of varied background that ranges from secondary school and college students to the secretaries and models.
