A kidney Transplant will be started in Ethiopia after 3 Months
Ethiopian Ministry of Health announced that preparations are underway to conduct kidney transplant in Ethiopia. It is indicated that kidney cleansing procedures are being conducted at the Saint Paul Hospital and the procedure will be commenced on other government hospitals too.
Ethiopian Ministry of Health, Dr. Kesetebirhan Admasu said that the main problem for not being able to conduct kidney transplant in the country was the inexistence of a legislation to prohibit kidney selling and buying.
But since now the legislation that prohibits such an act is approved, the first patients to undergo kidney transplant procedure in the country will get the service after 3 months time; The minister said.
