11.5 million birr asked for sponsorship witout club recognition

Board of Ethiopian Coffee Football club has reported its current affairs on 31 August 2014.The board explained reasons of neglecting the supporter’s recognition.

Members of the board including the Chair man Metoaleqa Feqede Mamo were presented in the briefing.Income from selling club T-shirts was a major issue. Underlining on the sportish discipline of supporters, Ato Feqede also noted that the gap between the club and the association is a long time case.

According to the chairman’s speech, the club asked the association to incorporate rules to sell materials, remembering the association had not the right before. But, internally the association drafted the rule as it has the right to sell.

The rule says 70% of income from clothe sale and supporter registration is to the club while the rest 30% is to the association. But, the association didn’t clearly tell the number of supporters it has. Regarding the transfer of players the club writes letter for negotiating with the player after selection; not for enforcing the decision of the association. The board also believes on mistakes it has already committed; mentioning as the club has approached the case over the expected.

Fasika Asfaw asks to leave the club since supporters hitted him the case ignored to be solved with media disclosure of suuporters unsportish discipline. While it was attempted to hire manager on the club the boared takes the case to court and here the witnesses have been found among leaders of the association.

The supporters association has choosen arbitration instead of presenting the case to law. As Ato Aleqa spokes on the occasion the association violates the agreement in which both were working in mutual understanding. Noting, the association asks 11.5 million birr sponsor without the willingness of the club.

The sponsoring organization was asked for sponsor in a musical concert and was voluntary to sponsor either. The board members also complained on clothing sale from late 2003, 2004 and 2005 E.C. As the board explains, although the association has direct representative in the club the issues they discussed with us are different. The association was not presented in a discussion invited by the club board on July 17/2014.

Afterwards, on other days some members of the association asked the club to discuss on, but the club was not voluntary to talk perceiving the way is personal. Metoaleqa Feqede indicated that the supremacy of the club should not be ignored and we can’t make a discussion separately. We will work together if such miscommunications be solved he added.
