The United Arab Emirates (UAE)-Ethiopian Business Forum aimed at enhancing trade and investment relations between Ethiopia and UAE took place on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the Sheraton Addis Hotel.
The UAE business delegates were led by Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansori, UAE minister of Economy. More than 50 business persons from UAE had a business to business (B2B) meeting with local business persons, members of the Chamber of commerce.
Minister of Industry, Ahmed Abitew said while opening the forum that trade and investment relations between Ethiopia and UAE have been registering a steady growth during the past years.
Some 28 companies with a companied capital of 800 million birr are currently engaged in agriculture, manufacturing, real estate and pharmaceuticals, among others. Moreover, 24 companies with 4.6 billion birr are under construction.
