The US Ambassador to Ethiopia from 1996 to 1999, David Shinn, in his recent comment about Ethio-Eritrean relationship said that to bring their relationship into a peaceful mode both countries should immediately goes into discussion.
David Shinn who is widely known for his comments on the political issues of Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia and other Eastern African nations said about on the volatile Ethio-Eritrean relationship that Eritrea should allow Ethiopia to use its Assab port.
He is also known for his remark that Ethiopians should accept the International court’s ruling of Bademe area to Eritrea. Besides to this, he has also said that the idea that Assab belongs to Ethiopia is outdated. This last remark of him has caused an outrage among various groups.
