Breast milk is often called liquid gold for its unmatched health benefits for babies.
But its nickname is taking on a whole new meaning as a growing number of women turn to the internet to sell their excess milk.
The demand is there, and although there are no statistics, healthcare professionals say they’ve seen an increase in the trend to buy and share breast milk online.
It is a practice that officials warn could have serious health risks, but those who do it say the benefits outweigh the risks.
The US Food and Drug Administration recommends that people do not feed their babies milk sold or donated online.
