Ethiopian Airports Enterprise (EAE) announced that the preparations for the construction of five airports at different cities across the country are completed.
EAE’s public relations and communications office head Ato Wondimu Teklu said that including the Shera’s General Hayelom Are’aya airport, the Hawassa, Jinka, Semera and Robe airports construction will be begin soon.
Ato Wondimu added that the construction of the five new airports is part of the plan to increase the number of airports in the country from seventeen to twenty one. The construction of the Kombolcha airport is said to have reached its completion.
As part of the airport renovation project, it is announced that various upgrading and development works are done with 205 billion br capital on the Jigjiga, Jimma, Asosa, Semera, Bahir dar and Mekelle airports.
