Modern Abattoir to be built in Addis A modern Alboitre facility that can help export meat production to abroad and serve as research center for higher educational institutions is to be built in Addis.

The facility that will be built on a 174 000 square meter land at the hana mariam area of Addis with 21 million birr is expected to be finalized within 2 years time.

It is said that the facility will help in generating foreign exchange earnings and help solve the shortage of research centers in such areas.

A feasibility study on the project is to be started soon by professionals from South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. This facility that can slaughter upto 10 000 animals a day is expected to solve illegal animal slaughtering practices of the city.
