Man sues Former Ethiopian President and his Family

Former Ethiopian President Girma Wolde Giorgis and his daughter got accused.

A broker named Anteneh Assefa who has worked as a mediator for the former president to get his new home accuses former president Girma Woldegiorgis and his daughter saying that he hasn’t paid 360,000Br for his service.

The charge also includes the president’s office, its head Mss Amarech Bekalo, the office’s officier Mss Amsale Fantahun and the former president’s daughter, Mss Mena Girma. The broker Anteneh Assefa expresses his troubles to identify whom to ask for the payment and he asked the court to identify the person or body responsible for his payment.

The president office in its part has written a letter to the Ministry of Justice complaining that the payment goes against the government’s benefits and since it doesn’t have any legal expert to handle the case for it, it asked the Ministry of Justice to give the necessary legal support for the president office.

In addition to this, Ato Elias Arega who had signed an agreement to rent his home to the former president previously, and had the agreement been cancelled, has written a letter to the President office asking for a compensation payment of 2.4 million birr since he ‘had spent lots of money for the additional works on the building and for additional expenses’.
