Four Federal Police Members Sentenced to Prison for a Brutal Killing

570ab699Four federal police members who were accused of beating a man to death on grounds of revenge have put into prison. The four members of the federal police; Biruk Shiferaw, Haylay Areaya, Tsegaye Wolde Aregay and Taye Chinduane were accused in two charges.

The federal prosecutor’s charge files indicated that the first three were directly involved in the brutal killing that took place on June 12, 2012 at Mid night at the Gofa Mazoria area of Addis; while the fourth banished the friends of the deceased who have arrived at the scene to help their friend who has been beaten to death by the trio.

The Federal High Court that has been seeing the case, yesterday, passed its verdict where Biruk Shiferaw and Haylay Areaya sentenced to six years and seven months prison sentence while Tsegaye Wolde Aregay and Taye Chinduane put to five years and six months prison sentence.
