Former Gambela Region’s President Fled the Country

Former Gambela region’s president and recently the Ministre d’État for the Minister of Federal Affairs, Umed Ubang, has the fled the country; Addis Admass the Amharic weekly newspaper wrote.

The minister is known to have left the country at the beginning of last week and it is reported that he told for his close relatives that he wouldn’t return back. Dr. Shiferaw Tekelemariam, Minister of the Federal Affairs said that Umed Ubang has not showed up on his work and that he hasn’t been given any assignment to go abroad. He also told that the ministry is examining the issue.

It is known that Umed Ubang was removed from his position as the president of the Gambela region in the week long assessment session conducted on his administration.
