The fire that broke out today at 5:10 A.M in the Addis Abab’s Addis Ketema sub city, Woreda 8 at a place called Tawela tera is controlled after 2 hrs of continuous effort by the City’s Fire Brigade.
As the Addis Ababa Fire and Emergency Prevention and Rescue Agency’s communication officer Ato Nigatu Mamo told DireTube, eight fire brigade’s vehicles, 106 firemen and 153,000 litres of water was used to control the blaze.
Three firemen and five individuals who were helping the firemen have slightly injured. The place is known to be one of the most vulnerable for fire accidents and since the location is extremely congested, controlling the fire has become a grave problem.
The fire that broke out two weeks ago in a nearby neighborhood named Satin Tera had caused a 500,000Br worth of damage. The cause of the blaze and the amount of damage is being investigated.
