FIFA penalized ETV

EthioChannel newspaper writes that FIFA penalized ETV not to broadcast the match between Argentina and Switzerland which was in the second round of Brazil’s world cup.

The reason behind FIFA’s rebuking of ETV’s broadcast of that match is known to be because ETV repeatedly skips to broadcast FIFA’s official sponsors’ ads. In a typical 90 minutes match time, a broadcaster has to broadcast FIFA’s official sponsors’ ads for six times.

But as Ato Takele Kuyera of ETV sport and entertainment directorate deputy director’s representative told EthioChannel, ETV has been only broadcasting five or four times of the FIFA’s official sponsor’s ads. For which FIFA penalized ETV not to broadcast the match between Argentina and Switzerland. Ato Takele said that other African countries broadcasters too have suffered similar FIFA’s rebuke. “But now we have solved our problem,” he added.
