Coach of the Ethiopian national football team, Mariano Barreto, has asked the Ugandan Football Federation to cancel the planned friendly match between the two countries due to poor coordination. The request by Barreto came after the Waliyas’ arrival in the Ugandan capital, Kampala.
“The Ethiopian national football team has been forced to abandon its training in Kampala due to power failure in a stadium where it was practicing. In addition, there is a poor coordination from the organizers side,” a statement Dire Tube obtained from EFF today stated.
The Ethiopian team has arrived in Kampala on Friday afternoon and was received by a single Uganda Football federation staff along with one Ethiopian Diplomat.
Barreto said the Uganda Football association should respect the team which represents more than 90 million people .
The game, if goes ahead, will take place in the Namboole Stadium on Sunday at 4:30PM.
