The new metrics introduced is based on A, B, C and Am, which relies on public opinion. According to their official announcement, A grade movies generally include high production budget, high quality camera, well known artists and well known producers. Similarly, B grade movies include medium budget, relatively known or well known artists and producers, and a fair quality camera. C grade movies will generally include low budget, new inexperienced actors and producers, and low camera quality. To make their grading complete, Ethiocinema also created a category for amateur movies that need encouragement for the future under Am grading. As many spectators expressed their opinion on Ethiocinema’s Facebook page, this grading system will help the industry move on major step forward as it empowers the viewers dictate which works need a reward and which ones need more improvement.
