Co Pilot Hailemedhin Abera charged

Co pilot Hailemedhin Abera who had hijacked his own flight that was scheduled from Addis Ababa to Milan via Rome on February 17, 2014, to land it on Geneva, Switzerland got charged by the Ethiopian government federal prosecutor.

The prosecutor’s charge document submitted to the court accuses the co-pilot of causing financial loss amounting to 253, 336.42 Euros on the Ethiopian Airlines.

The co-pilot is currently imprisoned in Switzerland where he requested asylum. The co-pilot is accused of charges of “Hijacking an airplane on flight” and “endangering the airplane on flight”. The Federal prosecutor submits its charge document to the Lideta’s Federal high court 3rd criminal bench on April 12, 2014.

For the prosecutor to present its eight witnesses and two document evidences the court has given another appointment.
