A graduation ceremony is being held for about ten thousand students at Addis Ababa University (AAU) today. Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, other higher government officials and ambassadors are attending the ceremony that is being held at the millennium hall.
In his address to the graduates, the university’s president Dr. Admassu Tsegaye reminded that the present ceremony being the 63rd in the university’s history and that the University is teaching around fifty thousand students in its thirteen campuses.
Ministry of Education, Shiferaw Shigute, in his part said that more than sixty thousand students as being graduated from various universities across the country in the past two weeks.
Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, who had graduated from AAU twenty six years ago, in his commencement address expressed the government’s commitment towards education.
