A 391 MW hydroelectric generation plant to be built on River Geba

03b8981fEthiopian Electric Power (EEP) public relations Head Misikir Negash told Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) that a contract is scheduled to be signed between three companies and EEP today for the construction of a 391 MW hydroelectric power plant on the River Geba.

The three companies are Sino Hydro China, C.G.G.C and Sur Construction, Negash revealed.

River Geba is located in Oromia Regional State, between Eulababora and Jimma Zones.

Negash added, the Geba hydroelectric power plant is part of an array of infrastructural projects in the Growth and Transformation Plan II, which is in the pipelines to follow the country’s current Growth and Transformation Plan.
