A 200 million birr hotel will be inaugurated this Saturday in Hawassa. As the hotel’s public relation officer explained, the hotel built by Mrs. Amarech Zeleke has 70 rooms and it might be first of its kind in the southern region of Ethiopia.
The Hotel has two assembly halls named after the late PM Meles Zenawi and Tabor mountain, swimming pool, manicure, beauty salon, night club, bar, gymnasium, office areas for banks and travel agencies, and a wide parking lot for customers. The 10-storey twin tower hotel has created job opportunities for more than 250 individuals in the city.

Mrs. Amarech started her business journey buying Shiro with the small amount of money she had left after her husband’s death. She started a small Shiro retail store that eventually grew to a medium hotel named “central” in the down town Hawassa. Her resilience and hard work paid off eventually to a 200 million birr, 5 diamond hotel in the love city of Hawassa.
