Oppositions called for protest at Saudi Embassy in Addis

d65344c2Ethiopian opposition is expressing its anger towards the harassment being inflicted on the Ethiopian migrant workers in Saudi Arabia.

Blue party has called a demonstration at 11:30 A.M, Friday, November 15, 2013, at the Saudi Embassy in Addis Ababa to express the Ethiopians anger towards what has been called by the party as “an inhuman beatings, killing and rape” on the Ethiopian migrant workers in Saudi Arabia.

Dr Merera Gudina, Chairman of the opposition United Ethiopian Democratic Forces (UEDF) also said that UEDF has condemned what has happened on the Ethiopian migrant workers in Saudi Arabia. He also added that UEDF is preparing to call for a public demonstration.

Unity for Democracy and Justice Party (UDJ or Andinet) also said that it will call for a demonstration if the situation continues this way. In addition to the Friday’s demonstration, Blue party has also called for the Ethiopian Football team – the Waliyas players and all Ethiopians football fans to wear black ribbon as a sign of showing solidarity to the Ethiopian suffering in Saudi.

Engineer Yilikal of Blue party has also raised the issue of stopping diplomatic relations with the Saudi government. “We should not have any diplomatic relations with the country on whose streets our citizens are dying” He added.
