Tewodros Adhanom, Ethiopian Foreign Minstry. On his press conference to the local media on Friday, Ethiopian Foreign Ministry Tewodros Adhanom said that once the Ethiopian government repatriates its citizen it will take equivalent measures on Saudi.
He also said that as to the number of Ethiopian citizens who entered Saudi illegally crossing the border and staying illegally in Saudi after going for a Hajj pilgrimage, both the Ethiopian and the Saudi governments doesn’t have any clear number.
Though the number of Ethiopians seized by the Saudi police currently amounts to 23,000, it is estimated that some 50 to 80 thousand Ethiopian citizens must have still been there living illegally in Saudi. Tewodros Adhanom has also expressed his grievances on the human traffickers and on some agencies.
“For the sake of your fellow citizens, you should not do such things again” He said; “Have you felt what you did [To the human traffickers and some agencies]? Have we felt as to what we have done? This is a question for all of us” he added.
